My Statement on Today’s US Supreme Court Ruling

Today’s ruling by the US Supreme Court means that Texas congressional districts will remain exactly the same for the 2018 election.  I plan to file for reelection in November to continue serving CD 35, which I have represented for just over 4 1/2 years.  I ask for your continued support as I resist the Trump agenda in Washington and seek to be as accessible as possible in Texas.  Saturday I will join State Senator José Menéndez for my seventh Town Hall at San Antonio College and the following Saturday, I will be with Councilmember William “Cruz” Shaw for my eighth at the Claude Black Community Center.  Let’s keep working together to resist Trump every day, in every nonviolent way.

Thank you, for the encouragement and support, especially throughout these recent weeks. The low turnout does signal how much work remains to ensure Democratic victories in the General Election in November.

There are no unimportant elections and no unimportant races. From the courthouse to the statehouse to the Congress, I will be working for Democratic victories.
