A Message from Congressman Doggett on the Need for Immigration Reform Now

Posted on in In the News

We are closer than ever to enacting real, meaningful immigration reform that keeps families together and ensures every student who came here by no fault of their own has the opportunity to seek more education after high school and achieve their full potential.  Recently, at the U.S. Capitol, I joined several of my colleagues including Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Chairman of the Hispanic Caucus Immigration Task Force, Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers,  and thousands of advocates to say the time for reform is now.  Today, as I participate in a community discussion on immigration reform with Rep. Gutierrez in San Antonio, I am hopeful that we can move ahead with this reform.
