Patrick Shearer Endorses Lloyd Doggett to Continue Serving as a Voice for Texas Families in Washington:
“Lloyd Doggett has been a champion of Democratic values in Congress for many years, and Texans need his continued leadership,” said Shearer. “I’m grateful for the broad support I’ve received during the campaign, but under these circumstances, I have made the decision to withdraw from the race and endorse Congressman Doggett. I believe he is the right choice in this election.”
Ciro Rodriguez Files for Reelection in CD-23:
As reported by the San Antonio Express-News’ Nolan Hicks via Twitter, “Ciro Rodriguez is now talking about running in CD23. He says he won’t run against Doggett.” On Thursday, Rodriguez did in fact file in CD-23, which runs from San Antonio to El Paso.
Rodriguez said, “As representative for the Congressional District 23, I fought to strengthen the economy of the district, to bring funding home for needed projects and to create jobs. I am fighting for the needs of the many rather than the wants of a privileged few….”
