Student Leaders Join Rep. Doggett to Discuss New Student Financial Aid Reforms

Posted on in In the News

Standing up for education has been one of my top priorities in Congress.  I believe that students should be able to receive all of the education for which they are willing to work.  I  authored legislation to simplify financial aid forms, at the request of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, which recognizes that an educated workforce is vital to economic prosperity.  During a press conference at the site of my old alma matter, Austin High, now a campus of Austin Community College, I joined student leaders from ACC, UT, St. Edwards, Huston Tillotson, and Texas State as well as the Austin Chamber to discuss our success on historic student loan reforms.
