I was happy to be part of a hot but fun-filled afternoon with the Capital Area Food Bank and the Boys and Girls Club in Austin. In its 29th year of service, the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas provides food and grocery products to more than 350 Partner Agencies in 21 Central Texas counties! That’s a lot of lunches! The good work that this organization does every day, rain or shine, does not go unnoticed, and it was an extremely rewarding experience to be part of their day-to-day work to provide the meals that Central Texas children need to grow. I will continue to work for federal dollars to ensure that when a family needs a place to turn for this kind of vital assistance, Capital Area Food Bank can continue to be there for them.
